Fundraising Page for Augusta, GA - 2011 Walk from Obesity

I've been a big guy my entire life. After failing at diets over and over, I made the decision to have gastric bypass. At my highest weight, I clocked in at 532.4lbs. On March 17, 2011, after six months of supervised dieting and support group meetings, I had the surgery.

I currently weigh around 410lbs and still dropping. Last year I walked in Augusta's first Walk from Obesity. With the help of some generous friends I was able raise $500. This year I intend to run most or all of it and I hope to double the amount raised.

The Walk from Obesity is the only event that brings together those who are directly affected by obesity. My participation in this event is key to raising funds and drawing attention to obesity and the need for treatment and prevention efforts.

Your tax-deductible gift will help the ASMBS Foundation and the Obesity Action Coalition fund research, education and advocacy efforts to help fight obesity and the problems that those struggling with obesity face.
